COD Men's Soccer Extends Winning Streak, Now 12-1

The Chaparral men's soccer team extended its winning streak this weekend, besting Waubonsee and Rock Valley community colleges.

The team, now 12-1, earned its 12th consecutive win Sept. 29 at Rock Valley. COD dominated the first half with four unanswered goals. The Chaparrals continued their momentum in the second half with two additional goals before Rock Valley managed one shot past COD's defense.

The Chaparrals' Etabo Emena had a strong game, scoring one unassisted goal early on to put COD on the board. He had three assists. Other top COD scorers were Krzis Czapka with two goals and one assist and Saul Hernandez with two goals.

The team hosts Parkland (Oct. 3) and South Suburban (Oct. 5).

College of DuPage is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association, National Junior College Athletic Association Region IV and North Central Community College Conference (N4C). The College's Athletics program offers eight men's and seven women's sports teams each year, including baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field and volleyball. All home games are played on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd., and are free and open to the public.
