Round Lake Area Public Library to celebrate 45th years

The Round Lake Area Public Library is celebrating 45 years.

The celebration will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, with crafts, music, entertainment, snacks and more. The library is at 906 Hart Road, Round Lake.

The library will be remembering its beginnings with a '70s-themed birthday party. The public is invited to stop by throughout the day for snacks, library tours, photo opportunities with a surprise guest, special events and more.

Activities planned for the day include:

• 9 a.m.: Doughnuts with the Director

• 11 a.m.: Pocket Circus: A fun performance of juggling, magic and acrobatics.

• Noon to 1:30 p.m.: Paint Pet Rocks, just like people did in the '70s. Design and create a pet rock you can take home.

• 2 p.m.: Family bingo

• 2 p.m.: Tie dye in the Teen Zone (adults and teens, bring your own shirt).

• 3 p.m.: Musicians CJ Clark and Jake Racina play hits from the '70s.

• 4 p.m.: Raffle winners announced.
