Naperville North to present 'Wizard of Oz'

Get ready to take a journey down the yellow brick road when Naperville North High School presents "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" as its children's show.

Directed by Naperville North seniors Lindsay Cernek and Nathan Warwick, the fast-paced show based on L. Frank Baum's classic will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8; 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, in the North Performing Arts Center, 899 N. Mill St., Naperville.

Freshmen through seniors perform in the production, with the lead role of Dorothy going to sophomore Cora Stewart. When Dorothy drops into the Land of Oz, only one thing is certain: She's got to find a way back to Kansas.

A journey down the yellow brick road ensues as Dorothy and her new friends travel to the fabled Emerald City to meet the Great Oz. When Oz demands a steep price for sending her home, a perilous new adventure begins.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. For information, call (630) 420-6821.
