College of DuPage's Food Truck Rally and Sunset 5K brings dozens of eateries and family fun to the Glen Ellyn campus Saturday, Sept. 23, before racers set out on an evening race to support student scholarships.

Registration is $20 for individuals through Saturday, Sept. 16, then $25 through Friday, Sept. 22, and $30 on race day. Registration is $5 for current COD students and $10 for children ages 5 to 12. CARA members receive a $5 discount. The registration fee for the 100-Yard Youth Dash for ages 4 to 9 is $5. See full registration fee schedule at

The Food Truck Rally and Sunset 5K features more than a dozen popular Chicago and DuPage mobile eateries from 2 to 7:30 p.m. on campus, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn. From noon to 5 p.m., a Kid Zone will host family activities including a variety of games, face painting and Touch-a-Truck, where children can explore emergency vehicles, grounds equipment and tractor-trailers.

The 100-Yard Youth Dash begins at 4 p.m. on the football stadium track with three divisions: ages 4 to 5, 6 to 7, and 8 to 9. The Sunset 5K will begin at 5 p.m. and features a CARA- and USATF-certified course.

Sunset 5K awards include a $200 Visa gift card for the top overall male and female racers and the "Middle of the Pack" winner, with all 5K participants receiving a finisher medal and eligibility to win an iPad.

Race participants can register individually or as a team. Prizes are awarded for the fastest team and the "Luck of the Draw." All 5K race participants receive a short-sleeved technical T-shirt in a drawstring backpack.

All proceeds will benefit COD student scholarships. Each high school district served by College of DuPage will have a dedicated scholarship for their graduates who attend COD. At the time of 5K or Youth Dash registration, participants can designate the district that will receive the funds.
