Donate Eclipse Glasses at Schaumburg Library

A collection of solar eclipse glasses is taking place at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. The glasses will be sent to Astronomers Without Borders, which will donate them to schools in other countries where eclipses will occur in the near future. To donate eclipse glasses, simply place them in the white bin in the lobby of the library.

"This is a great way to repurpose the eclipse glasses," said Monica Harris, the library's executive director. "Students in other countries will truly benefit from this collection. First we gave the glasses away to our patrons, now our patrons have to opportunity to share them with others."

The collection of eclipse glasses will continue through Sunday, Sept. 3.
