Workshops for Senior Citizens

The Faith Committee of Lake County's Domestic Violence has two upcoming workshops to benefit senior citizens. Both events are free and open to the public.

On Saturday, August 26th Diane Cinnick, M.A., LCPC, CADC will provide information to help anyone who is trying to understand if changes they observe in a loved one is normal or a cause for concern. This workshop, "Should I Be Concerned? Understanding the Challenges and Changes Associated with Aging", will be held from 10 a.m. to Noon at Village Church of Lincolnshire, 201 N. Riverwoods Road, Lake Forest, Illinois. A sign language interpreter will be provided for this workshop.

The workshop Senior Scams will be held on Friday, September 8th from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Shiloh Towers, 1525 27th Street in Zion. Special Investigator Bill Biang of the Lake County State's Attorney's Office will provide information regarding the most common scams which target senior citizens as well as how to respond should one become targeted. A representative of the Illinois State Treasurer's Office will also be present to assist individuals in searching the State's unclaimed properties database.
