Preschoolers can explore the natural world

Preschoolers can learn all about prairies during upcoming summer nature programs for 3- and 4-year olds, by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. Registration per session is $5 per child. Advance registration is required.

On Thursday, Aug. 24, the kids will explore "A Prairie Wonderland" in morning and afternoon programs.

•"Nature Tykes" is for 3-year-olds with their parent or caregiver. They will explore the natural world through a variety of activities, including stories, nature hikes, songs, games or crafts. The program will run from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Creek Bend Nature Center in St. Charles.

• "Little Naturalists" is the Forest Preserve District's hourlong program for 4-year-olds. Children will discover the wonders of nature through a variety of activities, including songs, hikes, stories, games or crafts. The program will run from 1 to 2 p.m. at Creek Bend Nature Center. This program is for the young participants. Parents, caregivers and siblings may enjoy the trails of LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve or wait inside the nature center during the program.
