St. Francis High School Teacher Wins the CapsimCore™ Teacher Invitational

The St. Francis High School community congratulates teacher and alum Jeff Gerdeman '87 for recently winning the inaugural CapsimCore™ Teacher Invitational Challenge. This national challenge engaged 102 high-school level business educators as they competed in the CapsimCore™ entry-level business simulation.

For six weeks last spring, each contestant was tasked with managing a fictional $40 million business across six simulated years. Gerdeman earned an impressive 28 out of a possible 30 stars in the simulation. Because of his outstanding performance, he was named the winner of the first CapsimCore™ Teacher Invitational Challenge. His prize included student licenses for a free CapsimCore™ class at St. Francis High School.

Through CapsimCore™, high school students taking entry-level business classes will be exposed to business concepts and terminology, while acting as business managers in a fun and engaging simulated environment.

Jeff Gerdeman '87 currently serves as Director of Information Technology at St. Francis High School and teaches in the Business and Technology Department. He and his colleagues collectively bring more than 80 years of real-world business experience to their classrooms.
