Acrylic Painter Leaves Patrons in Awe of Nature

Acrylic painter Tobi Abrams of Arlington Heights conveys wonder and peace through her nature scenes that all can enjoy through Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Wellness Center of Northwest Community Hospital, 800 W. Central Rd., Arlington Heights. The exhibit is co-sponsored by the Northwest Cultural Council, and is free and open to the public.

From the majesty of glaciers and rocks, to the mystery of water and trees, Abrams' work elicits a sense of awe from art patrons.

Abrams, who has taught painting, drawing, and Early American crafts for 30 years, has held juried exhibits at museums and colleges throughout the U.S. Her art education includes a degree in Therapeutic Recreation.

"I believe that art activities should be available for all populations and ability levels," Abrams says.

The Northwest Cultural Council serving the Northwest corridor, is a non-profit organization. It supports and promotes the work of area visual artists and poets, offering a variety of programs including corporate gallery exhibitions, co-sponsored by businesses, convention and visitors' bureaus, libraries, and hospitals. It also offers art competitions, and poetry workshops and readings.
