Attorney Steven Migala appointed to Elgin Planning and Zoning Commission

Steven Migala, a partner at Lavelle Law in Schaumburg, has been appointed to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission in the City of Elgin. Migala will fill an open term that expires in mid-2018.

Migala holds a B.S. in finance from Bradley University and gained his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law. In his practice at Lavelle Law, Migala is focused primarily on banking and corporate law. He had previously served on the planning and zoning board in the Village of Streamwood.

"I am very pleased to continue this type of community service in Elgin," Migala said. "There are a number of significant land use matters that such boards must deal with and I am happy to share my experience and knowledge in helping my new community in whatever way I can."

The Planning and Zoning Commission in Elgin consists of seven members who meet on a monthly basis. "The role of the commission is to advise the city council, staff and residents on matters related to zoning, development, mapping, property divisions and land use," Migala said. "We also participate in the periodic development of a comprehensive plan for the city."
