Illinois State Police announces technology upgrades

SPRINGFIELD - The Director of the Illinois State Police is pleased to announce continuing significant enhancements to the Illinois State Police technology infrastructure.

The technology enhancements are being completed by Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) staff, in conjunction with external consultants, to ensure high availability functionality while allowing for future upgrades to many of the Illinois State Police's legacy criminal justice systems.

The Illinois State Police is dedicated to providing public safety to the citizens of Illinois, and the technology enhancements illustrate the department's commitment to fighting crime and keeping communities safe.

The Illinois State Police is working with Illinois law enforcement agencies across the state to allow them adequate time to prepare and implement their continuity of operations plans as they continue the technology enhancements.

The technology enhancements are part of an ongoing effort by agencies under the direction of Gov. Bruce Rauner and DoIT to modernize the state's technology platforms and to better serve the residents of the Illinois by allowing for greater public safety and security through the use of technology.

The current technology enhancements and future systems upgrades are expected to be completed in 2018.
