Sign up for free annual well and septic seminars

Are you a homeowner with a well and/or septic system? Do you know how these systems work? Do you know how to properly care for your well and septic system?

If your answer to one or both of the last two questions is no, plan to attend the Kane County Health Department's free Well and Septic Seminar for Homeowners.

It's that time of year again and the Kane County Health Department has scheduled its annual free Well & Septic seminar.

Due to the popularity of the seminars in the past, a second seminar has been added to accommodate demand.

The seminar will be held twice on Thursday, Sept. 21, at the University of Illinois Extension office, 535 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Check-in time for the afternoon session will be 2 to 2:30 p.m., with the seminar beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Check-in time for the evening session runs from 5:30 to 6 p.m., with the program beginning at 6 p.m.

Due to the program's popularity, you should call ahead and reserve a seat. To reserve your seat, contact the Kane County Health Department at (630) 444-3040. If you reach voicemail, leave your name, phone number, address, and reason for calling and you will be put on the list.

One water sample test kit will be given to each household that is supported by well water free of charge.

Bring all of your questions as a short question-and-answer session will be held after the presentation.
