This Friday, Liverpool native John Glenn will speak to the Lake Zurich Rotary about growing up "in the shadow of the Beatles." Like the Beatles, Glenn was born in Liverpool and lived about two miles away from John Lennon. He'll present a photo tour of Liverpool in the Beatles years.

"No-one changed music more than The Beatles," says Glenn, "and I want to show how the Liverpool we all experienced in the 1950s and 60's made it happen." Glenn belives it couldn't have happened anywhere else.

John Glenn is a resident of St. Charles who emigrated to the United States after college. He has been an engineer and a scientist, as well as a consumer researcher and financial planner, and currently operates a real estate investment firm with his wife.

Lake Zurich Rotary meets for lunch at 12:15 on Fridays at the Foglia YMCA, Lower Level, 1025 N. Old McHenry Rd., Lake Zurich. Anyone interested in community service in the area is welcome to attend. The first lunch is complimentary.
