Learn to improve your sports performance

The athletics departments at Glenbard South and Glenbard West high schools and the Glenbard Parent Series will present "Excellence in Sports Performance: Establishing a Winning Culture" with Gregory Dale on Tuesday, Aug. 15.

Dale is a professor of sport psychology and sport ethics at Duke University who consults with professional teams to enhance character and improve peak performance.

He will speak to student athletes about increasing confidence, maintaining accountability and handling adversity, all while enjoying the process. Parents will learn the significance of the coach-athlete-parent triangle and the importance of modeling and effective goal setting.

Dale's presentations are part of Glenbard South's and Glenbard West's parent and athlete meetings Aug. 15 and are open to the public.

Dale will give two presentations, joining Tim Carlson, Glenbard South assistant principal of athletics, at 6 p.m. at Glenbard South, 23W200 Butterfield Road in Glen Ellyn, and Joseph Kain, Glenbard West assistant principal of athletics, at 6:30 p.m. at Glenbard West, 670 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.

Student-athletes at Glenbard South and Glenbard West are required to attend with their parent or guardian.
