Campton Hills joins in National Night Out celebration Aug. 1

The 11th annual National Night Out in the village of Campton Hills will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, on School Street between Route 64 and LaFox Road.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and resident camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Together, we are making that happen. National Night Out events are held with over 38 million people in 16,000-plus communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.

More than 20 organizations and local businesses will provide safety, health, environmental and community education. Simulated firefighting, facing painting, contests and demonstrations will be available for children and families. Live animals will be on-site. Free snacks and beverages will be available.

"This is a great opportunity for the Campton Hills community to meet members of the Campton Hills Police Department as well as the local businesses and organizations who support us and serve the community," said Chief Dan Hoffman.

Also this year, come and pick up a "No Solicitors Invited" sticker for your front door.
