Presence St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary names scholarship winners

Presence St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary recently presented scholarships to 10 students across the Fox Valley.

The students will pursue careers in medicine, nursing, physical therapy and biomedical engineering.

The auxiliary has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships since 1977.

Auxiliary members consider academic achievement, financial need, extracurricular activities, a personal essay and letters of recommendations in their decision.

The scholarship program is funded with the help of EFS Foundation and funds raised from auxiliary projects.

The 2017 scholarship winners are:

• Arifa Baber, Streamwood High School;

• Demi Graham, St. Charles East High School;

• Molly Mehta, South Elgin High School;

• Theresa Moreci, St. Charles East High School

• John Paul Pagulayan, St. Edward Central Catholic High School in Elgin;

• Asfia Quershi, Dundee-Crown High School in Carpentersville;

• Rochelle Sia, Harry D. Jacobs High School in Algonquin;

• Zachary Whitaker, Huntley High School;

• Karina Wong, Bartlett High School;

• Kaelan Wong, Bartlett High School.
