Choristers invited to summer vocal camp

Looking for something fun to do this summer?

Want to sharpen your singing skills and make new friends in just a week?

Join the Summer Vocal Camp offered by the Elgin Master Chorale's Children Chorus. Try out new instruments, sing new music and meet other kids who like to do the same thing as you.

The summer camp is great for choristers of all experience levels. The camp is designed for ages 7 to 17.

The camp will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, July 31, to Friday, Aug. 4, at Elgin Community College Building H, 1700 Spartan Drive. There will be a Saturday performance at 2 p.m. Aug. 5.

Cost for the summer camp is $100.

The EMC Children's Chorus will begin its 2017-18 season with rehearsals on Sept. 11. All children ages 7-15 are welcome to register. The conductor is Rebecca Narofsky, an Elgin Children's Chorus alum.

Participating in EMC Children's Chorus will help your child grow as a musician and as a person, teaching work ethic and confidence along with musical techniques.

Its motto, "Sing. Perform. Friends.," helps you to envision what your child will get out of joining the chorus.

The fall and spring concerts will be held at ECC's Blizzard Theatre. Rehearsals are 5:30 to 7 p.m. Mondays at Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive.

For information on the upcoming season, call (847) 214-7225 or visit emcchildrenschorus.org.
