Hanover Park hosts “Play Ball Summer” event

Hanover Park Mayor Rod Craig and the village will host Hanover Park youth in a "Play Ball Summer" event Wednesday, July 26, as part of the United States Conference of Mayors' continued support of the initiative.

"Play Ball Summer" focuses on the fun nature of baseball and encourages an active and healthy lifestyle for kids in all communities.

Hanover Park Little League players will participate in a special game to commemorate the event at 5 p.m. July 26 at the Hanover Park Sports Complex at 1300 Sycamore.

Team coaches will be members of the Hanover Park police and fire departments. Public safety vehicles will be on display. Free hot dogs and refreshments are available.

Mayors across the country are hosting similar activities to spur the organizing of community events.
