Enjoy night hikes, campfires and more during 'Woods at Twilight' programs

Send the kids on an early evening adventure in one of three forest preserves this summer during "The Woods at Twilight," a nature program series for kids entering third through sixth grades with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County.

During each session, staff naturalists will lead a night hike with fun, trail-side activities. Attendees will learn about nocturnal nature, as the sun sets and the woods grow dark. The evening will conclude with a campfire.

Three dates and locations of "The Woods at Twilight" are scheduled.

Register your child for one or all three:

• 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Camp Tomo Chi-Chi Knolls at 40W095 Freeman Road, Gilberts;

• 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Creek Bend Nature Center located in LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles;

• 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at Glenwood Forest Preserve, 1644 South River St., Batavia.

Registration is $15 per person, per session, and advance registration is required. Call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register.
