Summer fun and cooking out at Immanuel Lutheran's community meal July 27

The community is invited to a no-cost Community Meal from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church & School in Palatine.

Immanuel will be serving up "good ole-summertime" favorites: food and fun.

The menu? Hamburgers, hotdogs, pasta salad, green salad, baked beans, chips, lemonade and iced tea. Popular picnic games will be available for all to play.

Immanuel hosted the Community Meal three other times. At the recent one in April, participants made bird feeders, met therapy dogs, and enjoyed the evening. Volunteers served 180 people from the community. Immanuel and the Community Meal thank all the volunteers who support this effort.

Through vision and hard work, the Community Meal's Mary Sandner and Sandy Haase make this all possible. Immanuel hopes to model in Palatine what these ladies provide for the Barrington community. Please come to the Community Meal on Thursday, July 27, 2017 or a cookout- after all, everyone's invited! And everyone's also invited to volunteer! There's a volunteer sign up form located on Immanuel's website.

Immanuel Lutheran Church & School is located at 200 N. Plum Grove Road (at Wood Street) in downtown Palatine, just two blocks east of the Palatine Metra Train Station. For information, call the church office at (847) 359-1549 or visit ImmanuelPalatine.org.
