MCC seeks presenters, exhibitors for fall Child's World Conference

McHenry County College is seeking workshop presenters and exhibitors for the 2016 Practical Ideas for the Child's World conference on Nov. 12.

The conference will run from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Building B Commons area of the college, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

This 28th annual symposium is McHenry County's leading event on benchmarking early childhood best practices. It attracts roughly 250 early childhood educators, directors and child care providers from Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

Eric Litwin, author of the beloved first four "Pete the Cat" picture books, will be the keynote speaker.

Workshops are 1.25 hours in length and geared toward those who work with young children (infants through age 8). Past participants have shown specific interest in workshops on classroom management, special needs and hands-on activities in science, mathematics, art, language and large motor areas.

Exhibitors also are sought. Fees are $50 for the first table and $35 for each additional table.

To register, visit mchenry.edu/childsworld. Registration deadline is July 28 for presenters and Oct. 28 for exhibitors. For more information, call Wendy Yemm at (815) 455-8764 or email conferencecenter@mchenry.edu.
