Inaugural golf outing to honor former Holy Cross student Stephen Woodcock

The inaugural Stephen J. Woodcock Memorial Golf Outing will take place on Friday, Aug. 11, at Hughes Creek in Elburn.

The cost is $125 per person and includes lunch, golf with cart, event T-shirt, swag bag, steak dinner and more.

This scramble format features a hole-in-one, longest drive and closest to the pin contests and fun games. No golf experience required.

A dinner-only option is available for $50 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

Registration and lunch will begin at 11 a.m. The shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. Appetizers and drinks begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner/awards at 7 p.m.

Stephen Woodcock was a 2012 graduate of Holy Cross Catholic School who will always be remembered for his big heart and the kindness he showed to all. He passed away in May 2016 following a tragic accident, one week before his graduation from Marmion Academy in Aurora.

This inaugural event will support the Stephen J. Woodcock Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Holy Cross Guardian Angel Fund, which provides tuition assistance to families in need.

Both of these funds speak to the caring and loving spirit that embodied Stephen. Please consider supporting this special event.
