USA Flag Retirement Ceremony

The United States Flag Code establishes advisory rules for display and care of the flag of the United States. It is Section 1 of Title 4 of the United States Code (4 U.S.C. § 1 et seq). Per the U.S. Flag Code, when the U.S. flag becomes "in a condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, the flag should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

The Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter (NSDAR)and C.A.R. members held a private USA flag retirement ceremony on June 14, 2017, as part of US Flag Day celebration. Several U.S. flags were properly and respectfully retired during the ceremony.
