Shakespeare in the Park presents 'As You Like It'

Naperville Park District's Shakespeare in the Park program is presenting "As You Like It" in a style that aims to make The Bard's comedy accessible and entertaining for families.

"As You Like It" begins at 7 p.m. Friday, July 14, at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, 912 Sindt Court, Naperville. Admission is free.

The Midsummer Theatre Troupe performs Shakespeare's comedies in an engaging style that makes the language understandable and brings out the fun and laughter in the story for audiences of all ages.

"As You Like It" is the story of the heroine, Rosalind, and her journey away from trouble to find temporary refuge in the Forest of Arden. Along the way, she meets many engaging characters and finds love as well.

"We're excited to bring this free performance to the community at a new location this year," said Brittany Malatt, program manager with the Naperville Park District.

"The Riverwalk Grand Pavilion provides a picturesque setting with plenty of lawn space and parking. Bring a picnic supper or stop by the Riverwalk Café to pick up a sandwich or snack to enjoy as you watch this entertaining performance."
