Libertyville Masonic Lodge to Host Open House June 24

The Libertyville Masonic Lodge is hosting an open house on June 24 from 9:00am to 1:00pm to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Freemasonry. We are located at 356 Brainerd Ave in Libertyville.

A great deal has happened in 300 Years and many incredible men have come and gone. George Washington lead the Revolutionary Army to defeat the British and gave birth to a new nation while John Paul Jones became the first Admiral of the U.S. Navy (it only had about 6 ships at the time). Mozart in his short life became one of the greatest composers that ever lived and Nat King Cole recorded a beautiful song we all hear every Christmas. Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the moon, exciting the dreams and imaginations of millions and Harry Houdini seemed to do the impossible.

All these great men had one thing in common: each were members of a most benevolent fraternity and that is Freemasonry.

For centuries men have joined our fraternity seeking friendship and brotherhood; striving to become better men by the lessons taught in our craft. As they become better men, they become better fathers, husbands, leaders, and followers. A man has to decide to use the tools he has to make himself better and Masonry gives him those tools.

What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry aims to promote Friendship, Morality, and Brotherly Love among its members. It is, by definition, a fraternity; comprised of men from every race, religion, opinion, and background who are brought together as Brothers to develop and strengthen the bonds of friendship.

With over 3 million members, Freemasons belong to the largest and oldest fraternal organization in the world. Freemasonry proposes to "make good men better" by teaching - with metaphors from geometry and architecture - about building values based on great universal truths.
