Arlington Heights Historical Society Celebrates 60 Years with Free Tours

It all started with a small band of interested residents meeting in their homes to collect historical letters, pictures and records about the village of Arlington Heights. Chartered in May 1957 as a non-profit organization, the Society is now one of the three partners of the Arlington Heights Historical Museum complex that includes five buildings, a vast collection of artifacts and a historical library.

Free tours of three buildings are available on Saturdays, June 24, July 29, August 26 and September 30, from 9:00am until 12:00 noon. The Müller House, Banta House and Carriage House will be open to the public. Tours are self-guided with docents available to answer questions and provide highlights. No registration is necessary. Tours begin in the Heritage Gallery at 110 W. Fremont.

The free tours are scheduled on the last Saturday of each month during the Farmers Market, which is held weekly every Saturday from 7:30am until 12:30pm until October 14 in the commuter lot across the street from the Arlington Heights Historical Museum.

The Arlington Heights Historical Society is still a band of interested citizens as its members and those who serve on the Board of Directors. The Society continues to collect, preserve and celebrate the historical heritage of Arlington Heights and invites you to be part of our rich heritage. We invite you to visit the gallery, attend an event, tour the buildings, become a member, or shop at the store. For more information, please call the Museum at (847) 255-1225.
