West Chicago Railroad Days rolling into town

West Chicago's Railroad Days will feature free entertainment, a parade, a carnival and plenty of food when it rolls into town July 6-9 at Pioneer Park, 479 E. Forest Ave.

The four-day event includes a main stage for musical performances, craft and merchant vendors, and an assortment of rides and games.

Hours will be 4:30 to 10 p.m. July 6, 4:30 to 11 p.m. July 7, noon to 11 p.m. July 8, and 2:30 to 10 p.m. July 9.

The main stage lineup includes 4th Point and Lost in Time on July 6; Girl & the Gang, Voyage and Billie Elton on July 7; Sammy and the Good Knights, Fortunate Sons and Kashmir on July 8; and West Chicago Youth Music, Latin Grammy nominated Trio Ellas, Chicago Youth Mariachi, and ESSO - Funkjam closing out the Festival on July 9.

Special wrist band ride discounts for the carnival will be offered from 5:30 to 10 p.m. July 6 and 2:30 to 6 p.m. July 9.

A community favorite, the Railroad Days Parade steps off at 1 p.m. July 9.

The 2017 parade theme, "What Defines Your Art," will feature a variety of creative units by local groups showcasing their enthusiasm for arts in the community - whether that takes the form of theater, visual, musical or literary arts.

The parade grand marshals, Fredericka Krauss Howard and Ronald Benner, both have a history of nurturing the arts in West Chicago and have shared their passion and talents to enrich the lives of students, residents and visitors to the community.

Attendees of Railroad Days on all dates can look forward to a variety of food from regional and local restaurants, both ethnic and American comfort foods.

Railroad Days is sponsored by the City of West Chicago and is planned and managed by the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce. All vendor inquiries should be directed to the festival website, www.westerndupagechamber.com, or at (630) 231-3003 during regular business hours.
