Kane County to do crack sealing on 7 local roads

Starting the week of June 19, the Kane County Division of Transportation announced that routing and crack sealing will begin on Thatcher Road, Keslinger Road, Tyrrell Road, Galligan Road, Kaneville Road, West County Line Road, and Meredith Road.

Construction work hours will be from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day for approximately the next six to eight weeks, weather permitting.

The work will be done on:

• Thatcher Road from Root Lane to Beith Road;

• Keslinger Road from County Line Road to Route 47;

• Tyrrell Road from Big Timber Road to Route 72;

• Galligan Road from Tyrrell Road 1,200 feet south of Huntley Road;

• Kaneville Road from Fabyan Parkway to Peck Road;

• West County Line Road from Main Street to Perry Road;

• Meredith Road along Union Ditch #3 Bridge Deck

The crack-sealing program is part of the county's comprehensive road maintenance program to increase the longevity of the roads by sealing road cracks preventing water from penetrating the road base and reducing the life of the pavement.

The above-mentioned roads will remain open during treatment, but will be reduced to one lane of travel using temporary daily lane closures.
