Aurora 88s to open season Saturday

Join the Aurora 88s Roller Derby on Saturday, June 17, at the Aurora Skate Center to see Aurora 88s vs Prairieland Punishers Roller Derby in the season opener. This is will be the Aurora 88s' first home bout of the season. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the whistle start at 6 p.m.

The national anthem will be sung by Christina Robinson. The cool sounds during the bout will be by DJ Luna. Enjoy a halftime show by Abigal Fennesey from the School of Rock.

Try your luck at the 50/50 raffle. Concession stand will be available at the rink, along with a bake sale supporting the Aurora 88s including vegan options. Check out the different vendors, as well as the Skater Outpost with goods made by the skaters, to profit to skaters.

Tickets also are $10 when purchased directly from your favorite skater. Tickets at the door are $12. Kids under the age of 12 are admitted free. Volunteer and receive free admission, along with a beer ticket for the after-party. After the bout, join in the fun with craft beer, live music and dancing at the after-party, at the Two Brothers Roundhouse, 205 N. Broadway Ave., Aurora.
