Centegra Wound & Hyperbaric Center to open in McHenry

People in need of wound care in northern McHenry County will soon have access to services close to home. The Centegra Wound & Hyperbaric Center will open Monday, June 19, in former Staples location at 2507 N. Richmond Road, McHenry.

The center's team of doctors, nurses and technicians are specially trained in chronic wound management. They will treat patients suffering from severe and persistent wounds related to diabetes, vascular disease, pressure or other conditions.

Many advanced therapies will be offered including hyperbaric oxygen therapy in Centegra's state-of-the-art hyperbaric chambers. During hyperbaric oxygen therapy, patients breathe 100 percent oxygen inside the pressurized chamber, quickly increasing the concentration of oxygen in the bloodstream to enhance the body's natural healing process.

"When patients have wounds that won't heal they want to receive treatment close to home," said Peggy Norton-Rosko, Centegra Health System senior vice president and chief nursing officer. "By bringing this service to northern McHenry County, we're working to ensure all our patients have access to the care they need."

This facility joins the Centegra Wound & Hyperbaric Center already open at 11650 S. Route 47 in Huntley, giving patients two convenient options for care. To schedule an appointment, no referral required, or for information, call (847) 802-7300.
