Kids Dream Summer Film Series comes to Marcus Theatre

Marcus Theatres and Marcus Wehrenberg Theatres will kick off the Kids Dream Summer Film Series, presented by American Family Insurance.

Between June 11 and Aug. 16, moviegoers can see family-favorite films on the big screen at 10 a.m. Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays. Admission for all showtimes is $3. Attendees also can enjoy concessions specials, including popcorn and fountain drinks for $2.75 each.

Titles, dates and showtimes are subject to change. All titles will be shown in standard 2-D only and rated G or PG, in accordance with standard MPAA guidelines. For more details on specific showings, visit www.marcustheatres.com.

• On June 11-12, 14: "The Secret Life of Pets," rated PG. The quiet life of a terrier named Max is up-ended when his owner takes in Duke, a stray whom Max instantly dislikes.

• June 18-19, 21: "Rock Dog," rated PG. When a radio falls from the sky into the hands of a wide-eyed Tibetan Mastiff, he leaves home to fulfill his dream of becoming a musician, setting into motion a series of completely unexpected events.

• June 25-26, 28: "Sing," rated PG. In a city of humanoid animals, a hustling theater impresario's attempt to save his theater with a singing competition becomes grander than he anticipates even as its finalists find that their lives will never be the same.

• July 2-3, 5: "A Dog's Purpose," rated PG. A dog looks to discover his purpose in life over the course of several lifetimes and owners.

• July 9-10, 12: "The Lego Batman Movie," rated PG. A cooler-than-ever Bruce Wayne must deal with the usual suspects as they plan to rule Gotham City, while discovering that he has accidentally adopted a teenage orphan who wishes to become his sidekick.

• July 16-17, 19: "Trolls," rated PG. After the Bergens invade Troll Village, Poppy, the happiest Troll ever born, and the curmudgeonly Branch, set off on a journey to rescue her friends.

• July 23-24, 26: "Monster Trucks," rated PG. A young man working at a small town junkyard discovers and befriends a creature who feeds on oil being sought by a fracking company.

• July 30-31, Aug. 2: "Curious George," rated G. The Man in the Yellow Hat is an eccentric museum employee who looks after his pet monkey - an inquisitive and wonderful creature whose enthusiasm often gets the best of him.

8 Aug. 6-7, 9: "Storks," rated PG. Storks have moved on from delivering babies to packages. But when an order for a baby appears, the best delivery stork must scramble to fix the error by delivering the baby.

• Aug. 13-14, 16: "Smurfs: The Lost Village," rated PG. In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting race through the Forbidden Forest leading to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history.
