Blue Aura, Weston Trio perform at Elmhurst City Centre

Two bands, Blue Aura and the John Weston Trio, will perform next week as part of the Elmhurst City Centre's Block to Block Party in the city's downtown.

The concert series features performances every Wednesday night in June and July. The June 14 performances are from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Blue Aura band will perform at the City Centre Plaza, while the John Weston Trio will play a short walk away at Elmhurst 255 Plaza, 255 N. York Road. Visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket or a chair for the Elmhurst 255 Plaza location, which features a spacious lawn.

Blue Aura is an acoustic party rock band that covers family-friendly pop, rock and country singalong favorites from the '70s through today's Top 40 hits.

"There's nothing better than sharing our music in the Western suburbs, as we (band members) are all residents and active members in this amazing community," lead vocalist Jessica Moran said.

The Chicago-based John Weston Trio will perform original work from lead singer and songwriter John Weston. Weston favors simple, concise writing and storytelling that draws on the musical traditions of classic rock, country, pop and folk music.

His passion for songwriting and music led him to become an accredited member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International and the Chicago Songwriters Collective.

Elmhurst City Centre's mission is to make downtown a destination spot through concerted efforts in marketing and special events, physical appearance standards and improvements, and business retention and recruitment.
