Rep. Sauer Offers Summer Reading Program for Children K-5th Grade

LIBERTYVILLE - State Representative Nick Sauer (R-Lake Barrington) is offering a program to keep children intellectually engaged over summer vacation. The Summer Reading Program offers children in kindergarten through 5th grade the opportunity to keep their minds active during summer vacation, while also providing the chance to have some fun for participating. Participation brochures are available at Rep. Sauer's District Office in Libertyville.

"Developing a love of reading at a young age helps set children up for future success in school and life," said Sauer. "I hope lots of kids will accept the challenge to join my summer reading program this year."

To be a member of Rep. Sauer's Summer Reading Program, children are asked to read eight books (books over 150 pages count for two) between the time school ends and the program deadline of July 29. Children who achieve this goal will be invited to join their fellow classmates and Sauer at a celebration in early fall. This program can also be done in conjunction with any program already in existence at a child's school, or offered through the public library in their community.

Please return the completed form to Rep. Sauer's office by July 29 in order to qualify.

If a child did not receive a Summer Reading Program brochure from their school or library, brochures are available at Sauer's office located at 1585 N Milwaukee Ave, Suite 7, in Libertyville. Brochures can also be printed off directly from Sauer's website, www.RepNickSauer.com. For additional information, contact the office at (847) 984-2485.
