'ECC brought me closer to my goals'

My Elgin Community College adventure started when I signed up to take high school equivalency classes in January 2016. I knew if I could make it through orientation I could make it through the classes.

I set a goal to have my high school equivalency diploma by August 2016. That was unrealistic for most, but I stayed focused and determined. I took my final test on June 30, 2016, and passed!

From then on, I knew I wanted to continue at ECC, but I didn't know the direction I wanted to take. I then came across administrative office assistant and knew that was it.

I signed up for eight classes in my first semester of college and made yet another goal many said was unrealistic, but my motivation grew stronger and I passed all of my classes! My second semester was just as tough, but I am not giving up.

Each day at ECC brings me a step closer to where I want to be, and I couldn't be happier with what I have accomplished here in a short amount of time. The teachers make sure our education is a priority and leave no questions unanswered.

Education has no expiration date. This is only the beginning of endless possibilities for me.
