COD Celebrates 25th Annual High School Equivalency Commencement

College of DuPage's Adult Basic Education/General Education Development office honored 70 recipients of their newly earned High School Equivalency (HSE) certificates at a ceremony held May 20. Click here for photos from this event.

The College, which became a DuPage County HSE testing site in 1997, offers a range of services for adults earning their HSE certificate. These resources have helped thousands of adults complete their high school education. Guest student speakers Janine Bussler, Elpi Economou, Ronda Crawford and Kevin Ventura shared highlights of their program experience. Other speakers included College of DuPage President Dr. Ann Rondeau, Board Chairman Deanne Mazzochi, State Sen. Pat McGuire and State Rep. David S. Olsen.

Additionally, the May 20 ceremony honored students receiving scholarships to continue their college studies, including Jonathon Bagnal, Eiman Bakdounes, Leonor Brito, Valentin Bucio, Mei Yun Chen, Ryan Clark, Ronda L. Crawford, Tod Davis, Elpiniki Economou, Hannah Fisher, Rhiannon Gibson, Rick Glanc, Norberto Gonzalez Martinez, Angel Gooden, Kaitlyn Hobscheid, Jose Jimenez, Timothy Kasozi, Terry Lin, Tammy Magrini, Isabella Melendez, Nataushi Moton, Carolina Olivas Villanueva, Cameron Paulsen, Gary Pittman, Modupe Sagobowale, Margaret Scranton, Isaac Sevirri, Qurrat Siddigui and Sanela Zahran. Recognized as 2017 Outstanding Achievement Graduates were Solomon Abrar, Noor Ahmadzai, Ronda L. Crawford, Eva Neuharth, Carolina Olivas Villanueva, Claudia Juliet Ramirez, Jody William Reed and Margaret Scranton.
