Join the Fun at the Uncle Sam 5K Run/Walk & Little Patriots' Dash
We Want YOU! Join in on some healthy fun at this patriotic event in downtown Palatine! Participate in the first-ever Uncle Sam 5K Run/Walk & little Patriots' Dash on Sunday, July 2, 2017.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to charity partner, Fathers Helping Fathers, a national 501 (c)(3) organization that promotes a strong relationship between fathers and their children.
This Independence Day-themed event starts and ends at Tap House Grill, 56 Wilson Street in downtown Palatine, IL, 60067. The ½ mile kid's dash for our little patriots (ages 3-12) kicks off at 8:10 a.m. and the 5K run/walk for individuals ages 13 to adult begins at 8:30 a.m.
Participants of the 5K will receive an Uncle Sam 5K dri-fit shirt and Uncle Sam, and children will receive a cotton youth shirt and a race bib.
Following the race, Tap House Grill will be host spectators and participants for an after-party where adults 21 years of age and older will receive two complimentary beers (soft drinks), a half sandwich or wrap will also be included.
Awards will be given out for the top three females, and top three male finishers, in addition to the top three finishers in each age group.
The Uncle Sam 5K is an officially timed event. Parents with children in strollers are allowed to participate, but must start in the back of the pack! Dogs and other animals are not allowed.
Pre-registration is strongly recommended, and packet pick-up will be available at Road Runners Sports Kildeer, 20291 N Rand Rd #105, Kildeer, IL, 60074 on Friday, June 30 from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. and on Saturday, July 1 from 11 a.m. - 3.p.m. Packet pick-up and race day registration will be available from 7:00 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. but wait times may be longer than expected.
Free parking is available in the Gateway Parking Garage, at Smith and Colfax Streets, and is just steps away from Tap House Grill.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will go directly to benefit Fathers Helping Fathers, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping fathers' rights in the areas of parenting and raising awareness about the positive influence committed fathers have on the development of their children. FHF develops educational classes and development programs that help fathers in every aspect of being a parent from pre-birth classes, toddler training, and dealing with teenagers.
