Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter DAR beautifies Revolutionary War Veterans grave

At the Mount Rest Cemetery in Rosecrans, (founded in 1848) lies one of two soldiers in Lake County Illinois that served in the Revolutionary War. Henry Collins was born April 14, 1764 in Southborough Massachusetts. He enlisted on March 3, 1781 and served as a Private in Massachusetts under Colonel Ebenezer Sprout and Captains Sewell and Smith. He was honorably discharged on March 3, 1784. On May 25, 2012, The Daughters of the American Revolution, Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter in Libertyville, Little Fort Chapter in Waukegan, and Members of the Sons of the American Revolution had a ceremony and marked his grave with the the DAR and SAR plaques. Five years later, May 25, 2017, the Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter, cleaned up around his grave and planted red, white and blue perennials. This is to celebrate Henry Collins on Memorial Day.
