Free Summer Concert Series Coming to Fishel Park on Tuesday Evenings
Thirteen FREE live concerts will bring music to Fishel Park all summer long. Hosted by the Downers Grove Park District from May 30 through August 29, Tuesday evenings will be rockin' with a full lineup featuring jazz, rock and roll, pop, country music and so much more! Concerts will be held at Veterans Memorial Pavilion in Fishel Park located on Grove Street just west of Main Street in Downers Grove. Concerts begin at 7 pm with the exception of May 30 when Downers Grove North & South Jazz Bands perform at 6 pm. There will be no concert on July 4.
"We are thrilled to continue growing this exciting summer tradition for Downers Grove which includes new food truck and beverage selections this year, as well as top-notch performers. Fishel Park is the perfect place to spend a beautiful Tuesday evening!" said Michelle Pusateri, Recreation Center Manager and Concert Series organizer.
While visitors may bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages to the concerts, food trucks and vendors will be onsite to offer a variety of tantalizing treats. Each week, The Roaming Hog food truck will serve up pork-centric sandwiches, loaded tots and more. Wells Street Popcorn and Every Day's a Sundae will offer sweet and savory options. Additional food trucks including Robinson's Ribs and Meatheads will be available throughout the summer.
As the official beverage sponsor and provider, Schamberger Bros, Inc. will provide beverages on tap from Alter Brewing, Co. and Bell's Brewery. Cider, wine and other beverages will also be available. Beverage tickets can be purchased onsite for $6 each. A photo ID is required for all guests wishing to enjoy alcoholic beverages.
Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for the outdoor concert. Dogs are welcome to also enjoy the concert, but must be leashed at all times.
