Learn about 'Combined Sewer Systems: What's Underground' May 23

The City of Elgin is hosting an event "Combined Sewer Systems: What's Underground" from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, in the West Conference Room at the Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way.

Elgin has combined sewer systems in some of its oldest neighborhoods. Combined sewer systems are pipes that carry wastewater and storm water. The EPA requires all combined sewer to be separated by 2032.

Attend this free open house to learn more about how the City of Elgin plans to address its combined sewer system and learn about its pollution prevention plan.

City staff will be available to answer any questions you may have about your neighborhood.
