Plato Center HCE to learn about financial elder exploitation

The Plato Center unit for Home and Community Education will meet at 1 p.m. Friday, May 19, at the Plato Town Hall, 10N924 Rippburger Road. The hostesses are Barbara Lee, Verlene Schroeder, Donna Vehrs and Donna Zierer. Come early for delicious refreshments.

The "lesson for living" is "Financial Elder Exploitation." The lesson explores who abusers can be and this program focuses how to recognize and reduce the risk of financial exploitation. They are hoping to have a speaker on this subject. They also will be collecting paper goods for the Community Crisis Center and the town hall. Plans will be made for the potluck picnic in June at Nancy Haire's home.

At the April meeting, Caroline Olinger and Karen Norris spoke on the organization Seniors Helping Seniors. In May, they attended the annual meeting at the Mill Creek Golf Club in Geneva. In the program, a presenter talked about Marie Antoinette and her life, loves, and intrigues.

The Plato Center unit meeting is open to all; call Joan at (847) 931-8120 to attend the meetings. You are most welcome.
