TriCity Family Services celebrates successful 28th annual 'Festival of Color' gala

More than 250 guests turned out to support TriCity Family Services at the 28th annual gala fundraiser on April 22.

With the theme, "Festival of Color," the event was held at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles. The co-chairwoman were Carrie Sebold and Michelle Rollins.

In addition to being the largest fundraiser of the year for the nonprofit organization, this year's celebration also kicked off the Golden Jubilee anniversary for TriCity Family Services, a milestone being recognized throughout the year.

Executive Director Laura Poss and Director of Development Miranda Barfuss greeted gala attendees as they entered the St. Charles Ballroom.

Live musical entertainment, provided by Dennis O'Brien, kicked off the cocktail hour, in addition to hors d'oeuvres and open bar, which featured signature beverages nodding to TriCity Family Services' golden anniversary. Attendees were then treated to a sit-down dinner followed by live and silent auctions, paddle raise, a "Golden Surprise" raffle, and a moving video montage celebrating the nonprofit's 50 years of service to the community during the program, emceed by Scott Mackay from 95.9 The River.

The presentation of the Golden Heart Awards for long-standing and meritorious philanthropic support of the organization recognized this year's recipients Chris and Kristin Behmer, Caerus Foundation and St. Charles Kiwanis Club.

In addition to the Golden Heart winners, other special guests in attendance for this special night included two of TriCity Family Services' founders Bob MacNeille and Vernon Guynn, as well as the first two employees, Jim Weaver and John Lengle.

The 28th annual gala raised nearly $100,000 to fund mental health programs and services provided by TriCity Family Services.
