More reasons to love West Chicago

Students share their love for their school in West Chicago's latest video in the series Why I Love West Chicago. Produced by Leman Middle School Broadcasting Communications instructor Sal Tamayo and his students, in collaboration with the City of West Chicago, the video was unscripted and captures the enthusiasm of some of the City's youngest residents, and is guaranteed to bring a smile.

"West Chicago Community School District 33 has been a great collaborative partner for advancing the connections our youngest students have made with City Hall and the community at large," said Mayor Ruben Pineda during his annual State of the City Address, where the video was shown to those in attendance. "This past year I visited schools to share lunch, read to students, and celebrated the work of Frosty Fest essay participants. Plus, outside the classroom we walked together during September's Move with the Mayor Challenge and hosted a visit to City Hall to learn about government and civic responsibility. Hopefully a seed was planted that will inspire more than a few future civic leaders. I love seeing the smiling, bright and inquisitive faces and listening to the enthusiasm they have for going to school."

The District 33 video joins a growing playlist of short videos which offer a glimpse of what residents of all ages love best about their community and is posted to the City's YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/cityofwestchicago.
