United Way's trip prize raffle raises over $56,000

United Way of Lake County wrapped up its first trip prize raffle this campaign season that encouraged individuals to donate a gift of $52 or more to be entered to win a prize package to Los Cabos, Mexico.

The prize package included round-trip airfare for two, round-trip ground transportation and a four-night stay at the four-star Hilton Los Cabos Beach and Golf Resort. All items included in the prize package were donated by community members and corporate partners.

There were 1,079 eligible donors that raised $56,108 ($52 per donor) for United Way's education programs. United Way of Lake County's work is focused on bridging the achievement gap to ensure all children in Lake County reach key academic milestones.

United Way invests and implements programming that supports children from birth through high school in local communities that need and deserve help.

Raffle winner Peter Coburn of Wells Fargo accepted the trip prize package at United Way of Lake County's office.

"We were thrilled to offer this special prize package to our donors who share our same passion to create lasting change in Lake County," Kristi Long, president and CEO of United Way of Lake County, said.
