DuPage Housing Authority Races for Community

On a chilly but sunny Saturday morning, May 6, 2017, the runners began to line up for the DuPage Human Race to help raise money for over 70 nonprofits across DuPage County. This event launched with roughly 1,600 participants at 9 a.m. at The Esplanade at Locust Pointe, 1901 Butterfield Road, Downers Grove. Families, individuals, and their pets choose to either run in the 5K or walk the scenic 2-mile route.

DuPage Housing Authority believes in giving back to the community and has participated in the DuPage Human Race for several years. The group sponsored Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans as its benefactor this year. DHA's mission is to serve and empower people of DuPage County needing assistance obtaining decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing, through a proactive administration of public programs, funds, and cooperation with other public and private agencies dedicated to the improvement of housing and human development.
