Hello Broadway puts on 'Charlotte's Web' this weekend

Hello Broadway Theatre Company will present its spring play, "Charlotte's Web," May 13-14. Performances will be 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church, 1745 Kaneville Road, Geneva. The production is perfect for all ages. The show will have a brief intermission with a run-time of about 75 minutes.

Get caught up in Charlotte's web as this colorful, fun and timeless story is spun on to the stage. Meet all the fascinating characters: Wilbur (Cate Costello, Geneva), an endearing piglet in grave danger of becoming bacon; Fern (Madi Connors, Geneva), a young girl who loves animals and wants to save him; Templeton (Lily Mehren, Geneva), the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; and Charlotte (Ally Hayden, Geneva), the wise and winsome spider who proves what true friendship is all about.

Based on the book by E.B. White, "Charlotte's Web" was named by the Children's Literature Association as "the best American children's book of the past two hundred years." Charlotte's Web was adapted by Joseph Robinette. Produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock.

The cast of 20 is directed by executive/artistic director, Kim Maslo. The cast includes Clara Barnes, Eldon Barnes, Gavin Barnes, Emma Connors, Shea Fink, Molly Franz, Lily Laramie, Megan McChrystal, Mike McChrystal, Lexi Meier, Dylan Spinney, Emma Spinney, all of Geneva; Madison Borg of West Chicago; Isabel Ignatius of North Aurora; and Preston Kaminski of Sugar Grove.
