CLC recognizes participants in new Employer Partnership Program

The College of Lake County recognized 16 organizations participating in its new Employer Partnership program at two April appreciation events held in Grayslake.

Launched in 2016, the program allows employers to participate at three different levels: gold, silver and bronze. Participation can range from serving on career advisory committees to providing tax-deductible donations of equipment to offering internships.

The gold-level participants include: Advocate Health Care; Cancer Treatment Centers of America (Midwestern); Direct Fitness Solutions; NorthShore University HealthSystem; and Vista Health System's Medical Center.

Organizations recognized at the silver level: Aurora Medical Group; Bright Horizons Family Solutions; Centegra Health System; Chicago Botanic Garden; Grainger; James Martin Associates, Inc.; Lake County Forest Preserve District; Lake County Health Department; Six Flags Great America; and United Hospital System.

Bronze-level participants: Baxter Healthcare, Inc.; International Union of Operating Engineers' Local 399 ETF; Johnstone Supply; Lake County Sheriff's Office; Living Lands Conservation Co.; Macy's Inc.; Mano a Mano Family Resource Center; Scotsman Ice Systems; Walgreen Co.; and ZF Industries, Inc.

"The appreciation events are one way of honoring the employer partners that help CLC build a talent pipeline for Lake County," said Ali O'Brien, assistant vice president for educational affairs. "The college is extremely grateful for their support, and their feedback is critical to ensuring that CLC's career programs teach the latest skills and technologies."

Industry representatives participate in nearly 40 career advisory committees, O'Brien noted. The committees cover both existing career programs and new ones such as firefighter basic operations, supply chain management and retail management.
