Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble awards scholarships to local students

Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble's Board of Directors has awarded two Patricia Whitmore Pre-Professional Talent Scholarships to Barrington High School graduating senior, Miss Victoria Van Hollen, and to Stevenson High School rising senior, Miss Stephanie Eggers. Eggers will pursue a six-week intensive summer program with Ballet West in Salt Lake City, UT. Van Hollen will pursue summer dance studies locally. Van Hollen and Eggers both currently study ballet at the Barrington Dance Academy, are full company members of Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble (BYDE), and have performed soloist roles in BYDE's productions of Sleeping Beauty, Graduation Ball, and The Nutcracker. Both dancers will also have featured roles in the upcoming BYDE production of Coppelia that will be performed on June 9 & 10, 2017 at Barrington High School.

Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble supports three types of annual scholarships: the Patricia Whitmore Pre-Professional Talent Scholarship, the BYDE Financial Need Scholarship, and the Rusty Hernandez Scholarship for Boys. Primary funding for BYDE's annual scholarships is provided by individual and family donors at BYDE's annual fall gala. 2017 scholarship donors include: Steve & Sheila Ballot, Jasper & Marian Sanfilippo, Diane Crawford, Katherine Logue & Jonathan Nyland, Mark & Amy Vandenbergh, John & Roberta Begley, Scott & Melva Eggers, Nick & Elizabeth Fancesconi, Michael & Xiuling Frankel, Glenna Gineris, Debbie Jeglum, Annette Nikolich, Dan & Dawn Patten, Art & Chrissy Scott, Scott & Megan Senesac, Alfred & Keisha St. John, and Gerry & Jennifer Wondrasek.

The Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble and its scholarship programs are also supported by the following foundations, corporations and governmental agencies: The Benson Foundation, Barrington Area Community Foundation, Illinois Arts Council (a state agency), The Sanfilippo Foundation, Rose Packing Company, C.N.A. Foundation, RedLight Security LLC, Barrington Junior Women's Club, The DEMAR Foundation Inc., John B. Sanfilippo & Son Inc., C.H. The Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble is a not for profit 501(c)(3) fine arts organization which promotes artistic integrity, involvement, and awareness through exceptional dance training and performance in the Chicagoland area.
