Learn to Start a Family Tree at Library's Genealogy Program

Genealogist Jeffrey Bockman will cover the importance of recording family histories in "Beginning Genealogy and Family Tree" from 3-4:30 p.m., Sunday, May 21 in the Rasmussen South Room of the Schaumburg Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd. Participants will learn how to create a family tree, record family stories and trace ancestors' important documents, photographs and other records.

Bockman will discuss ways to document the basic facts, identify important documents that future descendants will appreciate; and determine who's who in old family photos. Additionally, he will explain the final step: recording stories and events that make a family unique.

Registration is required for this free program. To register, call (847) 923-3347 or visit the Information Desk on the library's second floor. Registration also takes place online at www.SchaumburgLibrary.org.
