NAMI to host annual meeting, volunteer orientation

NAMI Kane-South, DeKalb and Kendall Counties will hold its annual general meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at the Santori Public Library, 101 S River St., Aurora.

NAMI members and the general public are encouraged to attend.

A representative from the Kane County Health Department will present work currently being done to address mental health in the community. Board members and officers will be elected.

NAMI recovery speakers also will be sharing their personal stories about their recovery process.

A volunteer orientation will be offered at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at 400 Mercy Lane, Aurora. NAMI KDK is seeking volunteers to fill a variety of positions which include:

• NAMI Connection group facilitators;

• NAMI Family Support Group facilitators;

• Recreational programming volunteers;

• NAMI Basics education facilitators, and

• NAMI Family-to-Family education facilitators.
