Local dentists provides free service to Clearbrook residents

DecisionOne Dental will provide free dental services to adults with developmental disabilities through its "A Reason To Smile" program on Friday, May 5, at their Schaumburg location.

DecisionOne Dental teams from 19 locations, will come together to provide screenings and cleanings for more than 20 Clearbrook residents in an ongoing effort to support people with disabilities.

"A Reason to Smile" takes place six times per year providing dental care for more than 100 residents.

"Dental care is not a luxury, it is a necessity," said Dr. AJ Acierno, DecisionOne Dental CEO. "Aside from dental issues like tooth decay and gum disease, poor oral health can contribute to a host of other issues including heart disease and diabetes."

DecisionOne Dental has pledged $100,000 annually toward assisting Clearbrook, a local facility that provides services, programs, and support for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This bimonthly program began when a patient, whose brother is a Clearbrook client, told Dr. Acierno about the funding cuts the agency had endured, including preventive dental care.
